Tile Industry Leader Marks Major Milestone

Dal-Tile Corp. is celebrating 75 years in business.

“It is incredible how much our company has grown since 1947, when Robert Brittingham founded the Dallas Ceramic Company in a small quonset hut in Dallas, Texas,” says Dal-Tile president, Matt Kahny. “From that simple beginning, we have grown into the largest tile and countertop company in the world, manufacturing products that range from one-inch mosaics to 11-foot tall quartz slabs, and everything in-between.”

A division of Mohawk Industries and parent company of Daltile, Marazzi and American Olean brands, Dal-Tile is the largest manufacturer and marketer of tile, natural stone and countertop products used in residential and commercial spaces across North America. Its products are sold through a network of more than 300 company-owned sales service centres, stone slab yards and design studios, as well as through independent distributors and leading home centre retailers nationwide.

“While so much has changed, we are proud to say that the fundamental values that made Dal-Tile great over the years have remained,” says Kahny. “Chief among these values is the spirit of our people — the loyalty, passion and commitment they have for Dal-Tile, our customers and each other.”
