Tarkett Expands Manufacturing Footprint with Acquisition
Tarkett has purchased vinyl composite tile (VCT) manufacturer Vinylasa.
Based in Mexico, Vinylasa has supplied North America with VCT products for more than 50 years.
“With this acquisition, we are improving our VCT product offering, service levels and competitiveness,” says Eric Daliere, president and CEO of Tarkett North America and Tarkett Sports.
Tarkett will transition VCT manufacturing from its Florence, Ala., location to Mexico City. This is expected to be complete by the end of the year. In doing so, Tarkett says this will create space and focus on domestic luxury vinyl tile production at the company’s Florence facility.
Tarkett introduced its first VCT collection manufactured in Mexico City on Oct. 22.
“The new VCT collection is a combination of great design and outstanding value,” says Tarkett senior product manager, Jason McKee.
