
Schluter Names Product Standards, Sustainability Director
Schluter-Systems has hired Dan Marvin as director of product standards and sustainability.
“Dan’s wealth of experience in the flooring and tile industry positions him to be an effective leader in our efforts to produce industry-leading innovative solutions, raise the bar for industry standards and ensure that Schluter-Systems moves into the future with an eye toward sustainable development,” says business support leader Chantal Brunet.
Marvin joined the company’s international technical network team Aug. 15. In his new role, he will champion sustainability for Schluter’s products, oversee code compliance, participate in product development, and help the team in developing product and performance standards.

Marvin brings more than 30 years of experience in the flooring and tile industry to Schluter, having previously held senior management positions at Metropolitan Ceramics/Ironrock, Mapei, Florida Tile Inc. and American Olean/Daltile.
He is very active with standards groups, including the American National Standards Institute, International Standards Organization, American Society for Testing and Materials and U.S. Green Building Council, and a long-time contributor to the technical committees for the National Tile Contractors Association, Ceramic Tile Distributors Association and Tile Council of North America where he serves on the executive board and as chair of the green initiative committee.
