SAIT Launches High-Performance Homes Course
The continuing education department at the Southern Alberta Institute of Technology in Calgary has launched its High Performance Residential Design and Construction program.
The course introduces residential design and construction principles, methods and technologies for building high-performance homes.
Participants are said to develop leading industry knowledge of building science principles, metrics for verifying performance and prevailing rating and verification systems, as well as gain hands-on experience in detailing methods and best practices for constructing high-performance homes.
The program, which launched in February, is suitable for professionals in the residential construction industry, including architects, designers, engineers, site managers and trades.
It was developed to build upon existing knowledge of home design and construction to meet current provincial and national building code energy requirements.
