Mullican Flooring Names Quality Control Manager

Hardwood flooring manufacturer Mullican Flooring has announced Steve Black as quality control manager for the company.

“We are delighted to welcome Steve to the Mullican family,” says president Pat Oakley. “His extensive knowledge and commitment to excellence make him a perfect fit for this role.”

Black brings more than 25 years of experience in quality control to the position, with 17 of those years occurring within the wood flooring sector. He is responsible for overseeing all aspects of product inspection, assisting in the product development process and laying the groundwork for continuous improvement efforts.

“Steve’s proven track record in ensuring the highest standards of product quality, navigation of regulatory processes and innovative approach to process improvement will make an immediate positive impact for Mullican,” says Oakley. “In addition, his leadership will assist our team with maintaining and enhancing our commitment to delivering top-tier wood flooring products to our customers.”

Before joining Mullican, Black served as the quality assurance manager for QEP in Johnson City, Tenn., for more than 17 years. QEP designs, manufactures and distributes a broad range of installation solutions for commercial and home improvement projects worldwide.

Prior to this, he served in the U.S. Air Force for more than 21 years. His service included maintenance crew chief, aircraft/jet engine test facility manager and maintenance manager, and jet engine module repair facility manager, which included leading a successful deployment of the maintenance operations centre in support of the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan.
