Mannington Mills Awards Two Scholarships
In recognition of the benefits that higher education provides to both individuals and the communities in which they live, Mannington Mills has sponsored two scholarships this year through the National Merit Scholarship Corp.
High school seniors Isabel Edwards and Chloe Silvers are the recipients of the 2022 bursaries.
“There is nothing more valuable than a good education,” says Mannington board chair Keith Campbell. “By investing in the future of these young people, we hope to help them more fully reach their potential and contribute to the world in meaningful ways.”
Isabel Edwards is a graduate of Model High School, in Rome, Ga. She plans to become an attorney and will be attending the University of Georgia, majoring in ethnic, cultural minority, gender and group studies. Isabel is the daughter of Michael Edwards who is senior vice-president of operations at Mannington.
Chloe Silvers is a graduate of Adairsville High School, in Adairsville, Ga. She plans to become a veterinarian and will be attending Berry College, majoring in pre-veterinary studies. Chloe is the daughter of Samantha Silvers, a strategic account project coordinator at Mannington.
Mannington has been a corporate sponsor of the National Merit Scholarship Corp. and the underwriter of scholarships for children of its associates since 2014. The company has awarded 16 scholarships over the past eight years.
The National Merit Scholarship Corp. is a privately funded, not-for-profit organization that has given college scholarships to thousands of top-performing students across the United States since 1955.
