Lemay acquires Andres Escobar & Associates

Montréal, Qúe.-based Lemay architects has announced the acquisition of interior design firm Andres Escobar & Associates. This transaction is said to further Lemay’s interior design capability and offer while serving as a platform for the firm’s expansion in the markets of New York City and the Middle East, where Andres Escobar & Associates has a strong presence and history.

Andres Escobar & Associates was founded in 1989, quickly becoming one of Montreal’s most renowned design firms. Its projects span across the world, but the company first entered the New York City market in 2001 in Brooklyn, where the firm ingeniously converted the Gretsch Guitar Factory into condominiums.

This new Lemay entity will continue to operate from its Montreal and New York offices under the name Escobar by Lemay. Effective immediately, Andres Escobar becomes design principal at Lemay. As creative director for the Escobar Design Studio and valued member of the Lemay design team, the company says, Andres Escobar will be a key player in Lemay’s growing international presence and will contribute to design excellence across markets and within the larger group.
