Interior Design Show Returns to Vancouver

After a pandemic pause, the Interior Design Show (IDS) will take place in-person in Vancouver this fall.

The show will dive deep into the future with its theme, New Futures, as transformative change is occurring at a rapid pace right now for both people and the planet.

Keynote addresses will be given by Bridgitte Alomes, CEO and founder of learning solution company Natural Pod, which was born from Alomes’s commitment to environmental responsibility and her desire to create inspiring, healthy spaces for children; Lora Appleton, founder of the Female Design Council, an action-oriented leadership organization dedicated to providing a strong professional community for all women irrespective of colour, race, gender or sexual identity in the design industry; Mélanie Cherrier and Laurence Pons-Lavigne of Blanc Marine Intérieurs, a high-end residential design firm in Montreal; and Gillian Segal, principal and founder of Gillian Segal Design, a boutique full-service interior design studio in Vancouver.

The seminar program will tackle a range of topics across themes of building the design business, climate change and social responsibility, innovation and technology trends, and more.

Other highlights include House & Home Sunday with Lynda Reeves, who will host conversations with top Canadian designers on the main stage; Studio North, where independent product designers will display their custom and one-off creations; the District, which is touted as a neighbourhood of more than 20 vendors with fresh collections of design products for the home; and the show floor featuring exhibitors who will give visitors perspective on the future of design across the globe.

IDS West returns to the Vancouver Convention Centre, Sept. 22-25.
