FCEF Announces Education Project Manager Appointment
The Floor Covering Education Foundation (FCEF) has expanded its team to include an education project manager.
Jen Zurn, a CFI-certified hard surface installer, took on the newly created position Sept. 15.
“Her understanding of the industry along with her passion and dedication are just what we need to grow technical college programs quickly and effectively,” says FCEB executive director Jim Aaron.
For more than 17 years, Zurn has co-owned, managed and installed flooring for Wisconsin-based Precision Surfaces, an independent installation company focused on hard surface flooring. She has built a successful business with her co-owner and husband, giving her experience in project management, relationship building and working with budgets — all skills that will be instrumental to Zurn’s success in her new role, says FCEF. This entails implementing basic flooring installation programs in schools throughout North America, and making the training needed to become a flooring installer more readily available.
“What FCEF is doing is going to change the industry for the better and I’m honoured that I will get to be a part of their success,” says Zurn.
