CFI Creates Greater Opportunities for Association Membership
The International Certified Flooring Installers (CFI) association is offering greater membership opportunities to encourage wider industry participation.
Associate membership has been expanded to include non-CFI certified individuals and a new tier has been created for non-profit organizations.
“This new membership level is an important vehicle for us to expand our reach and make our programs more accessible to young professionals,” says executive director Robert Varden. “Our work of elevating the trade by creating more knowledgeable, professional and skilled craftsmen is so important in shaping the future of our industry.”
The restructured membership came into effect Sept. 1. It includes three levels: certified member, associate member and partner member.
The certified member is any individual installer who has achieved a minimum of one level of approved certification. Annual membership fees have been reduced to $65 US from $120 US.
Associate membership includes any individual or company that is involved within the flooring industry — non-CFI certified installers, manufacturers, flooring contractors, work rooms, distributors, retailers, sales associates, architect and design professionals, inspectors and general contractors, among others.
CFI says the hallmark of the new associate-level membership structure is that an installer may now become a member of the CFI family, regardless of whether they’re certified or not. This provides individuals at the early stage of their careers with the guidance, resources and support from the most recognized training and certification platform in the industry.
Individual membership is $65 US per year. Benefits of membership include access to the technical assistance help line and online CFI store, discount vouchers, industry networking at the annual convention and CFI content, such as the association’s quarterly magazine, Flooring Specialist, newsletters, e-mails and social media.
A partner member includes an industry association, school or organization that supports professional floor covering installation whose values, objectives and strategic initiatives align with the association.
CFI is a division of the World Floor Covering Association. It is devoted to installation training and certification through a team of dedicated trainers who share their experience and knowledge.
