BuildDirect Purchases Another Flooring Retailer

BuildDirect.com Technologies Inc. has purchased Superb Flooring and Design.

Based in Michigan, Superb is a flooring retailer that services professional builder customers across the mid-western region of the United States.

“Uniting with Superb will enable BuildDirect to meet more customers where they are, helping them to adapt to a new home improvement digital era through our innovative digital platform and supply chain network,” says BuildDirect CEO, Dan Park. “We’re confident in our strategy to leverage our digital and delivery platform, and becoming a true innovator in the space.”

This is BuildDirect’s second acquisition in Michigan. The first was FloorSource Wholesale and Supply, which took place late last year.

“Superb’s longstanding pro builder customer base aligns directly with our strategy to acquire B2B-focused targets, increasing our pro customer base and improving the end-to-end experience for these key customers,” says BuildDirect CFO, Ethan Rudin. “Our acquisition pipeline remains robust with accretive opportunities at various stages of development.”

Based in Vancouver, BuildDirect purchases and sells building materials online. The company acquired Superb for $10 million US. The deal closed Nov. 17.

In the period ending Sept. 30, Superb generated unaudited revenue of more than $18 million US and greater than $2 million US in earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation and amortization in the trailing 12 months.

“BuildDirect and Superb are joining forces to offer a unique omnichannel experience to our customers,” says Superb founder, Lonnie Pukoff. “In addition to its digital platform, BuildDirect’s product selection, heavyweight shipping infrastructure and offshore sourcing capabilities will create advantages for Superb.”
