Beatty Floors Celebrates Back-to-Back Award Win

Beatty Floors Ltd. was the big Canadian winner at this year’s Starnet Design Awards.

The Burnaby, B.C.-based company nabbed gold in the Canadian Project of the Year category for its work at the Vancouver Convention Centre. It was responsible for the removal of the stubborn and well-adhered ‘original’ carpet tile and subsequent installation of 7,200 square yards of new one-metre by one-metre carpet tile.

Beatty Floors’ senior estimator and project manager Craig Acheson navigated the site team and schedule, starting the project Dec. 20, 2021, and completing it Jan. 21, 2022. The company turned to its local Ardex sales professional, Barry Minaker, to provide floor remediation direction on short notice and a tight timeline.

This was the second win in two years for Beatty Floors. In 2021, the commercial flooring contractor was honoured for its installation at G&F Financial Group’s flagship office.

Now in its 24th year, the Starnet Design Awards honours outstanding projects completed by the organization’s members in partnership with architects, designers and Starnet aligned manufacturing partners.

Gold category winners were selected by a panel of judges in seven categories including corporate, education, healthcare, hospitality, mixed-use developments, unique installation and Canadian project. Each gold category winner contended for the overall 2022 Starnet grand prize award.

This year’s grand prize was presented to CB Flooring for its contribution to the newly refurbished and expanded Armstrong Flooring Corporate Centre in Lancaster, Penn.
