ASTM on the mind

Coverings’ very own installation columnist, Christopher Capobianco — who has an ongoing affiliation with the FCICA — routinely writes about ASTM installation standards for flooring. FCICA is now offering a webinar approach to learning about these standards.

The webinar, which is FCICA’s 10th in a series, will be held on Thursday July 18, 2013 at 11:00 a.m. EST.  Sonny Callaham of Royal Adhesives will present a webinar on ASTM Standards and How They Relate to the Real World of Flooring.  Mr. Callaham will begin this presentation by asking a few needed questions.

Are you having trouble knowing when to check for moisture?  Are you confused on what test method to use for moisture? These questions plague the flooring industry. ASTM International has standards out there to help guide flooring contractors down the right path.  According to the FCICA, every flooring contractor should have ASTM F 710, F 1869 and F 2170 in their “tool box.”  These three standards are important to a successful installation.  Join Callaham in discussing these standards and understanding the need for moisture testing in our industry.
