AHF Products Shuttering Hardwood Flooring Plant
In a strategic move to streamline operations and strengthen its long-term position in the flooring market, AHF Products is winding down production at its facility in Somerset, Ky.
The decision follows a multi-year internal review and a comprehensive market analysis, which confirmed this was the most effective way to align manufacturing capacity with current and projected demand.
“Consolidating operations is never an easy decision, particularly when it impacts our people,” says company CEO Brent Emore. “This step, though difficult, is essential to better position AHF for success in a rapidly evolving market while ensuring customer service remains our top priority.”
The facility will close Dec. 12, with operations transitioning to other AHF facilities.
Certain products like the company’s densified wood will continue to be manufactured at the Kentucky plant through February 2026.
The company has emphasized that the change will have no impact on product availability or service continuity.
“Our commitment to our customers remains unwavering,” says Emore. “This consolidation enables us to deliver even greater value through operational excellence, dependable quality and cutting-edge product innovation.”
The company has 10 other manufacturing facilities in the United States, including two solid wood, two sawmills, one engineered wood plant, three resilient plants and two porcelain plants. Additionally, four domestic distribution facilities serve customers through a multi-channel strategy that includes dealers, home centres and distributors. AHF also owns and operates an engineered wood flooring plant in Cambodia.
