As the current president of the Canadian Flooring, Cleaning and Restoration Association (CFCRA), I, like you, have seen numerous changes in our industry. One constant is the need for leaders to step up and take on a role to help our industry.
In March of this year we officially received our Certificate of Continuance from the federal government to transition from a provincial not-for-profit organization to a federal one. Our board has worked hard to make these changes happen and to do it the correct way, following both federal and provincial laws as well as our own association by-laws. Now that our new mandate is in place we need more directors to start making things happen!
Ultimately we would like board members from all provinces and possibly establish provincial chapters — nice goals for sure — but for now we need to get to work. Can you help?
As mentioned, we are looking for industry leaders from the wholesale, retail, cleaners and restoration sides of our industry to serve on the board and help guide the new association down uncharted waters. To be honest, we have started slow. We did not want repeat past transgressions and we want to build a new, solid organization to serve our industry from the ground up.
We now look to you — our experts and industry leaders and hope that you answer our call-to-action. The CFCRA is developing numerous initiatives including a Distributor and Manufacturing Council, Retailer Council, and a Cleaners and Restoration Council. By developing these councils we hope to engage in conversations across the spectrum of our industry and glean insight into how we can best serve our constituents. As always, we welcome any and all insights and ideas. Together we can be smarter than we are individually.
Without engagement and involvement your only national trade association will falter and fail. We are a very small, huge industry. Together we can make it better.
